The two-storey restaurant on On Lan Street in Central is Lai Sun Dining’s latest culinary concept
Taking over the space that On Dining Kitchen and Lounge occupied for many years, ZEST by Konishi has moved in and will open in mid-August.
The two-storey restaurant on On Lan Street in Central is the latest culinary concept by Lai Sun Dining, showcasing the talent of one of their best chefs, Mitsuru Konishi, previously with two-Michelin-starred Wagyu Takumi, two-Michelin-starred L’ATELIER de Joël Robuchon in Tokyo, and in France, L’Hôtel de Carantec and Taillevent, where he became the first Japanese sous chef in the famed restaurant’s history.
The menu at ZEST by Konishi focuses on the chef’s culinary training and experience in French Japanese culinary style and will experiment with new flavour profiles. This will be the focus on the 28th floor, whereas at the Lounge on the 29th floor he will focus on Japanese cuisine to celebrate his roots. It will include express set menus and bento boxes for lunch. Even the cocktails are infused with Japanese ingredients.
Konishi’s philosophy behind the new restaurant, is about putting one’s heart and soul into a given craft while also being adventurous, vivacious and energetic.
